--look up the writing style of: Persuasion
--there are three ways in which persuasive writing is shaped: Purpose / Audience / Context

--There are 3 elements of Emotional Appeal:  Fear / Pity / Guilt
--look up the words if necessary

--begin reading "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God"
--read pages 122 and 123 for background information
--begin reading text on p. 124.  read to the letter B on p. 125 and stop there.

--for after reading:  find a short phrase from the reading for each of the 3 Emotional Appeals
--explain how the quotes you find relate to the emotional appeals (fear / pity / guilt)
